Winston Burgess was born in Happy, Texas on May 22, 1923 to John Burgess and Sallie Crawford Burgess-Willson. Mr. Burgess received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State and a Masters degree. He served in the Army-Air Force as a radio operator during World War II in the South Pacific. He married Frances Gibson on March 19, 1982. Winston retired as a teacher from Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. He owned Winston’s Furniture Stripping, was a life time member of VFW Chapter 1475 and was a Deacon of Paramount Terrace Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Gibson Burgess; 2 sons, Richard Burgess and his wife Cathy, Robert Burgess and his wife Charlene, and 1 stepson, Bob Gibson and his wife Cindy. Also 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
