Winford "Butch" Vaughn, 68, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Pastor Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Butch was born on October 1, 1950 in Amarillo to Winford and Mary Vaughn. He graduated from Palo Duro High School and married the love of his life, Vi Roepe on December 16 in New Mexico. Butch and Vi were married for forty six years. He worked as a warehouseman for Cenex for over thirty years. Butch loved to bowl and go to his favorite vacation spot, Monument Lake where he would fish and camp with his family. Butch was also Santa in the mall for twelve years listening to the Christmas wishes of the kids as they sat on his lap. He was very active in Washington Avenue Christian Church and was a huge Cowboys fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammy Dawn; two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Vi; his daughter, Michelle Vaughn; his son, Jason Vaughn and wife Sandy; three grandchildren, Jacklyn Vaughn, Tyler Neese and Reegan Robertson; three brothers, Calvin Vaughn and wife Renee, Leo Vaughn and wife Glenna and Billy Joe Vaughn; three sisters, Joyce O'Grady, Kristine Moore and Jessica Garcia and numerous other family members.
