Willie "Bill" Melton

Willie "Bill" Melton III, 61, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025. No services are scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

 Bill was born on October 13, 1963, in Augusta, Georgia, to Willie Melton Jr. and Maxie Ann Sasser. He grew up in South Carolina and later moved to Texas, where he made his home for over 30 years. Bill found comfort in the community and felt deeply connected to the area.

 A quiet and thoughtful man, Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often cherishing time with close family and friends. His strong work ethic was evident in his job as scrap processor and livestock handler. Bill took pride in his work. Bill had a special love for animals, especially cows and horses, and spent time building stables and stalls for them. He also had a deep bond with his dog, Jack, whom he found abandoned on a work site and whose loyalty brought him great comfort.

 Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Melton Jr. and Maxie Ann Sasser, and his brother, Brian Melton.

 He is survived by his beloved girlfriend, Julia Nelson; his sister, Teresa Sheppard; and his brother, Tim Melton. Many other family members and friends will miss him dearly.
