William Lance Goforth, known as Lance to his friends and family, passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 52. He was born on September 2, 1970, in Amarillo, TX, to Christy and Bill Goforth. Lance grew up with his siblings Tim, Cindy, and Mark, and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1991. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father and older brother Tim.
Despite his challenges, Lance was a self-made, creative individual who lived life on his own terms. He possessed a natural talent for digital art and quickly learned how to use complicated computer programs. His artwork, which captured his unique artistic vision with meticulous detail, can be seen all over the state of Texas. Lance was fiercely independent, determined to make his own way in the world, and never lost his sense of perseverance and determination.
Those who knew Lance will remember him for his kindness, quick wit, and sense of humor. He had a contagious smile and laugh that could brighten up any room, and even during his lowest moments, he tried to lift the spirits of those around him. Lance was a loyal friend and a fierce defender of his family and loved ones, always willing to go above and beyond. His indomitable spirit will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
A private memorial service will be held in honor of Lance's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amarillo Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse. Lance's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will cherish his unique talents and unforgettable spirit.
