William Brent Smith

Willam Brent Smith of Amarillo passed away on September 27, 2024. He was born on August 29, 1955 to Nick and Carlene Smith in Long Beach CA.

 He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Smith of 43 years, and his two loving sons, Tyler Brent Smith and Charles Logan Taft (Joie), his loving mother, Carlene Smith, sister Sherry Smith McKean, nephews David Nickolas, Wil Coltan McKean and Madyson Avery Lane (Kale), grandchildren Trey Brent Smith and Parker Wayne Taft, brother and sister in laws Dr. John Raymond Hood (Cynthia), Mark Allen Hood, Debbie Lucille McManus (Jim), Kim Tracy Montgomery (Paul), Keith Weldon Hood, Randy Lee Hood, and thirteen nieces and nephews.

 Brent is preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Nancy Bennier, Harry and Eddie Lee Smith, father Nick Smith, brother David Neal Smith and sister Nancy Ann Smith.

 Brent graduated from Dalhart High School and loved school because he loved being part of the Dalhart GOLDEN Wolves and his teammates; he ran his heart out for the pack. He also attended a junior College for two years. He worked in the oil field on the drilling rig, making sure oil came up from the ground, and he loved his roughneck days.

 He lived in Oklahoma for 14 years before coming home last Easter weekend to live in Amarillo until Jesus called him home. He lived on a beautiful lake and fished every day. Brent’s life changed over 25 years ago giving his life to his Lord and Savior and becoming a member of Grace Church, Calvary Chapel in Amarillo Tx in 2010. He continued sowing seeds of the Gospel to everyone. He also sowed seeds of an heirloom garden that he loved to give away and daily Bible Studies with his family and his grandson who is reading his Action Bible to his little brothers and sisters and is on page 136. 

 He will forever live in our hearts and his love and kindness will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Big Brent you have run your race well; Godspeed we will see you soon for all eternity where our lives will only start to begin. 

 Memorial Service

Saturday, October 12th, 2024. 7600 S. Western St., Amarillo Tx. 1:00 pm.

Pastor Scott Davy of Grace Calvery will officiate the service and lunch will be served immediately following the service.
