Wendel Lee Clements, age 83, of Dumas passed away Monday, March 24, 2014. A time for the family to receive friends will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter road Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at The Church at Quail Creek with Rev. Dale Moreland, pastor and Rev. Rick Korsmo, pastor of Bible Baptist of Dumas officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Wendel was born in Holland, Ark. to Cyril D. and Grace (McElroy) Clements on July 14, 1930. He married the love of his life Luerene Alumbaugh in April of 1951 and she preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his step mother Flara Clements and a sister Mary Bowie.
Wendel graduated from Liberty High School in Conway, Ark. and went on to serve in the National Guard and then the US Army from 1952 - 1956. He then worked at Pantex as an electronic technician from 1961 to 1997. He was a dedicated Husband, Father and Grandfather to his family, that loved him.
Survivors include his son Keith and wife Carla Clements of Canyon, three daughters Diane and husband Mo Morgan of Amarillo, Denise and husband Rick Korsmo of Dumas and Angela and husband Dwayne Woolard of Amarillo. He also leaves behind two brothers Donald and Glynis Clements of Conway, Ark. and four sisters Sybil Crafford of Conway, Cecilia Mitts of Conway, Ark. and Peggy Starr of Bryant, Ark., Jean Graham of Florida and his six grandchildren Jay Morgan, Josh Morgan, Nathan Clements, Bryan Clements, Colin Korsmo and Caitlin Korsmo and two great grandchildren Brian and Jaxon Morgan.
