Funeral Service will be 10am Tuesday January 8, 2012 at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church 316 Valley with Dr. Delbert Serratt and Pastor Kenneth Dennis officiating. La Grone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
VISITATION: 6-7pm Monday January 7, 2013 at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, Coulter Road Chapel, Amarillo, Texas.
Wayne was born on March 3, 1957 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Charles and Dorothy Lancaster. He moved to Amarillo in 1960. He was a paint contractor and his artistry can be seen all over the city and area. A favorite pastime of Wayne's was playing in his band called Hurry Sundown. Wayne was a kind, generous, funny and loving man who never met a stranger. His daughter Mykell was the love of his life.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Lancaster, and his father-in-law, Kenneth Serratt
He is survived by his wife, Kristi, his daughter, Mykell,
his step-son, Hayden Biggers, his sister, Rose Harrison of Lewisville, Texas, his brother, Charles Lancaster of Amarillo, sisters Mary Spence, of Amarillo, Drea Hodnett, of North Carolina, Becky Gimber, of North Carolina,
his mother-in-law, Beth Serratt, several nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions for Wayne’s daughter Mykell Lancaster through at First Bank of the Southwest Amarillo, Texas.
