Warren Farris

Warren Farris, 92, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Graveside Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 21, 2014 in Llano East Cemetery with Chaplain Kutin of the V.A. Hospital officiating.
Warren was born on September 27, 1921 in Newalla, Oklahoma to George and Pearlie Mae Farris. Warren proudly served his country in the Air Force as a flight mechanic in the Phillipines. After retiring from the Air Force, he moved to Amarillo and worked at Pantex until retirement. He was an avid reader and gardener. He raised his own grapes and made wine from them. In his spare time, he liked to repair televisions and radios. Warren was also a Ham operator and owned and flew his own airplane. He also was a coin collector.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wilma, a son Terry Don, two sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Leamon and husband Loyd of Amarillo; two sons, Thomas Farris and wife Marty of Amarillo and Michael Farris and wife Kazue of Santa Barbara, CA; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and his military buddies at the V.A. Hospital for their care and friendship.
