Wanda was born April 8, 1940 at McLean, Texas to Don E. and Vashti Virginia Burrows Dorsey. She attended high school at McLean and Kingman, Arizona. She managed apartments, worked in the automobile industry, as a waitress and at a dry cleaners. Wanda had lived at Monroe, Michigan And Kingman, Arizona prior to making her home in Amarillo. She obtained her degree at W.T.A.M. University majoring in social work. Wanda was a case worker for Adult Protective Services prior to her retirement. She was passionate about helping the elderly and worked tirelessly to prevent their abuse.
She is preceded in death by her son Wayne Paul Hutchison and husband Lee Edgar
She is survived by two daughters: Belinda K. Hutchison of Amarillo and Deborah S. Hutchison of New Albany, Miss.; four brothers: Don C. Dorsey and wife Lonna L. of Alanreed, William Travis Dorsey of Panama City, Florida, Billy Don Dorsey and wife Eva of Tacoma, Wash. and Joe George Shaeffer and wife Connie of Wahiawa, Hawaii; two sisters: Linda June Lapacka and Husband Tom of Pampa and Donna Lea Murray of Sedona, Ariz.; Grandson: Christopher W. Harley and wife Teri L. of Watertown, S. Dakota; Granddaughter: Jessica L Carrillo and Husband Manuel of Kittering, Ohio.; and four great-grandchildren.
