Walter Slaton "Dub" Anderson, 84, of Amarillo died on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Triumph Truth Church with Pastor Alberta Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery with Military Honors by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Dub Anderson was born on July 30, 1932 in Wheeler to Joseph and Ethel Anderson. Dub proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as an anti aircraft specialist and was also in the special services. Dub married the love of his life, Helen Lowrey on December 19, 1956 in Clovis, N.M. and they were married for forty five wonderful years. He worked as a truck driver for International Paper company and was a musician in several bands. He played with Charlie Phillips and the Sugar Timers from 1967 to 1984. Dub played the bass, guitar, mandolin and fiddle. He was a member of the USO where he entertained the troops. Dub loved woodworking and painting , but most of all, Dub loved his huge family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; a son, David Anderson, three brothers, five sisters, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Ezell and husband Andy; two sons, Larry Keadle and wife Carol and Mike Keadle; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Family will receive guest on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
