Vongphet Kongdara Sayphalath

Vongphet “Patty” Kongdara Sayphalath was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on September 26, 2022, at the age of 44.

Phet was born to Chanthone and Pane Kongdara on February 1, 1978 in Vientiane, Laos. At the age of 7 she moved to Amarillo, Texas with her family. She met her husband, Thavysak, in 1996 and together they had one child, Katriona, who she loved very much.

Phet was a wonderful person who loved to cook and garden. She was most known for hosting and attending countless events. If something was happening, you can be assured Phet was going to be there and she’d have a car load of food too. Phet was also known for taking care of friends and family and was kind to all. Phet had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met and make them immediately feel comfortable and part of the family.

Even though Phet was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her, especially her family. She was so excited about her first grandbaby arriving in October and doted on her nieces and nephews often. She was the fun aunt who spoiled them every chance she got.

She is survived by her husband; daughter; parents; brother, Steve Kongdara and wife Jennifer; sister, Nikki Inthirath and husband Khieo; and sister Hanna Kongdara and husband Manuel, all of Amarillo; 2 nieces and 5 nephews; countless extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, September 30, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lagrone Funeral Home in Amarillo.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Lagrone Funeral Home in Amarillo.

Phet was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
