Vivian Darlene Dykeman

Graveside Service will be 10:00am Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, with Terry A. Stallings, officiating

Vivian Dykeman was born April 13, 1919 in Hatfield, Missouri unto Warren Kent and Sue Lesan Nelson. .  She attended Northwest Missouri State College and moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1939.  She married Ralph Dykeman in 1940.  Her husband along with Cal Farley founded the Maverick Club in Amarillo in 1934.  The late Mr. Dykeman ran the club for just over 40 years.   Vivian was the librarian there for many years, as well as Mr. Dykeman's helpmate at the Club and the summer camp in New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Dykeman, her father Warren Kent, her mother Sue, her brother Curtis, and a stepdaughter Sue Barone.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Nelson House of Andalusia, AL, several nieces and nephews, several step grandchildren, cousins and many Maverick Club boys.
