Virginia McKean

November 26, 1926 — August 27, 2013

Her funeral service will be 10AM Saturday August 31, 2013 at the LaGrone
Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home, Coulter Rd. Chapel 8310 S. Coulter Road,
Amarillo, with Rev. Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo officiating.
She was born on November 26, 1926 in Hamtramck, MI to Joseph F. LaBudde and Laura Martyniak LaBudde. She was later adopted by Edward Yeaman when her mother remarried.
She was a homemaker and a member of the “Greatest Generation.”  She married Sherman Lee “Sandy” McKean in Lawrence, KS on April 27, 1946. She loved her family, and with her husband raised their three sons. Her life with boys was involvement with school activities and athletics. Her grandchildren were special to her and she loved them dearly. She enjoyed camping with her family in the mountains of Colorado. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, a daughter – Kelly Anne McKean, and her parents.
Virginia is survived by her loyal companion – Golden Labrador Retriever, Sam; son Sherman Michael “Mike” McKean and wife, Sue of Decatur, TX; son – Patrick John “Pat” McKean and wife, Linda of Amarillo; son – David Lee McKean of Amarillo; grandchildren – Patrick Shannon McKean and wife, Brandie of Lawrenceville, GA; Jill Anne McKean of Keller, TX; Madyson Avery & Wil Coltan McKean of Amarillo; and her brother – Clarence Joseph LaBudde and wife, Cynthia of Warren, MI.
