Virginia Sue " Susie" Cox, 75 of Amarillo Died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Trinity Fellowship Chapel, 5000 Hollywood Road. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January, 3, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Virginia was born on April 20, 1940 in Wardville, Oklahoma to Cecil M. and Opal J. Davis. She married Vernon Cox. Virginia worked for Levi Strauss until the company closed the Amarillo location. She later worked as a nurse's aid caring for the residents where she would buy them their wants and needs. Susie was a very sweet and caring person who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Avery Mae Cox, and a brother, Charles Elmer Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Cox; children, Ginger Forguson and her husband, Jack, Steven Hinesley, Sheila Smith, Joseph Batsell, Sherry Batsell, Donnie Cox and his wife, Yvonne, and John Lesley Cox and his wife, Kelley; brother, Earnest Davis; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
