Viola Ellen Vaughn, 69, of Amarillo, passed from this life on Friday, July 26, 2019. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Friday, August 2, 2019 at Washington Avenue Church with Pastor Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Viola was born February 26, 1950 in Elkhart, Kansas to Don and Betty Roepe. She married the love of her life, Winford "Butch" Vaughn on December 16, 1973, in Clovis, New Mexico. Viola worked for many years as a registrar for the Canyon ISD and loved every minute of it. She was a devoted and caring mother who in her spare time enjoyed scrapbooking, shopping with her granddaughter, Jacklyn and collecting all sorts of beautiful angels to grace her home. She adored her lord and savior and worshiping him in church. Viola was a outstanding cook who made a wonderful country breakfast and pork chops which her family will greatly miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Butch; her daughter, Tammy Vaughn and her brother, Kenneth Roepe.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle Vaughn; her son, Jason Vaughn and wife Sandy; granddaughters, Jacklyn Vaughn and Reegan Robertson; grandson, Tyler Neese; a sister, Nancy Bansemer and many nieces and nephews.
