Victor G. De Leon, 92 , of Amarillo died on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Rosary service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with his grandson Mark De Leon, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Victor was born on September 8, 1923 in Bishop, Texas to Victor and Paulita De Leon. He married Josephina Chapa on April 18, 1948 in Alamo, Texas. He worked at Phil Black Plant in Borger for twelve years, he also owned and operated V & J Cement Contractors. He later married Carmen Salinas in 2005. Victor was a Godly man first, loved his family, adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always cheering for his Americas' team, the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed working whether it was concrete work or gardening. Victor was always prepared with words of inspiration and devotion for salvation to all his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Josephina De Leon, a son, Oscar De Leon, three brothers, Cleotilde De Leon, Silvestre De Leon, and Federico De Leon, four sisters, Severa Garza, Cecilia Rodriguez, Celia Valdez and Sinforosa Escamilla.
He is survived by his wife Carmen; his children and their spouses, Reno and Becky De Leon , Gilbert and Mary De Leon, Minerva and Michael Pena, all of Amarillo, Victor and Mary De Leon, of Merced, California, Arnulfo and Maria De Leon, of Borger, Texas and Joe and Diana De Leon, of Crystal Beach, Texas; daughter in law, Maria De Leon, of Amarillo; two sisters, Consuelo Silva, of Othello, Washington and Paulita (Blanca) Moroles, of Bonney Lake, Washington; his grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Debbie De Leon, Christopher and Enjoli De Leon, Bryan Pena and Gabriel Pena, Sarah and Ron Benavidez, De Lisa and Francisco Avalos, all of Amarillo, David and Cindy De Leon, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Andrea De Leon, of Merced, California, Adam De Leon, of Austin, Texas, Ana Raquel De Leon, of Borger, Texas, Chase De Leon, of Dallas, Texas, Nick De Leon, Lexie De Leon both of College Station, Texas; ten Great Grandchildren.
