Twila Mae Cannon Suttle, 85 of Amarillo, died on Friday, November 13, 2015. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Street.
Twila was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on December 16, 1929, she was the first of three children for G.O. "Hank" and Leta Cannon. She attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma where she met and married Elmer "Tink" Suttle before moving to Amarillo. Besides raising two children, she worked as a bookkeeper, volunteered at NWT Hospital, and earned a bachelor's degree from West Texas State College. Twila attended Kingswood Methodist Church, and then St. Stephen United Methodist prior to being admitted to the Craig Senior Living in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Donnie Cannon.
She is survived by her sister, Corinne Higgins and her husband, Gene, her children, Diane Beal-Dabney and her husband, Rick Dabney and Melvin Suttle and his wife, Ginger; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to St. Stephen United Methodist Church at 4600 S Western, Amarillo, TX 79109.
