Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter Street.
Tonya was born in San Francisco, California on June 25, 1967 and graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Troy Lee Main in August of 1985. During their 21 year courtship, they raised two beautiful children, Jerrad and Haley Main. They had a storybook kind of love they shared until his passing in March 2006. Almost ten years ago, with the passing of her true love, Tonya was told that one day she would be alright. That day has come and she is again complete, whole and together with the love of her life; dancing down the streets of Heaven. Although our hearts are heavy and our grief great, we rejoice for her release from this world.
Tonya prided herself on her life-long dedication to caring and making a difference for others. She was a nurse full of compassion and love for each and every patient she encountered within her 23 year career. However her greatest joys and pleasures were her kids, grandkids and family. From being a weekend garage sale warrior, a NASCAR freak, a river rat, to being the Gigi that would get in the floor with her grandkids. Everything she did was with an indescribable passion. Those that had the honor of knowing her knew what a kind soul she was. She was an amazing nurse, devoted mother and grandmother, loving daughter and cherished sister. Rest now Tonya for your work here is done. A new journey awaits upon those gates of Gold. Your beautiful life will not be forgotten, for you have been a blessing to us all. You will be greatly missed by so many but we will find you in the warmth of the sun and within the beauty of the night sky. We will feel you in the gentle breeze that passes us by. Until we meet again know that one day, we too will be alright.
Tonya was preceded in death by her sister Sonya Haley, husband Troy Main, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Survivors include: son Jerrad; daughter Haley; parents, Jack and Susan Haley; grandson, Jaxson, granddaughters, Lillith and Aubree; sister Cole Hardin and her husband, Shane; a nephew, Ashton and two nieces, Makenzie and Sydney.
The Family would like to extend a personal thank you to Dr. Lee Thomas for his sharing of faith and compassion during our stay at BSA CCU, as well as to two of her nurses, LaQuita and Julia for the gentle and loving care they bestowed upon Tonya and family. To Bivins, a working family she whole heartedly enjoyed being a part of, thank you so much for your presence and bedside prayers. There are no words to convey our gratitude to any of you.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
