Tommy Ray Spruill

Tommy Ray Spruill, 62, of Amarillo, gained his wings early Saturday January 22, 2022 and went home to be with the Lord.

Tommy was born August 26, 1959 to Billy and Daisy Spruill in Memphis Texas.  They later moved to Amarillo where he grew up and attended Caprock High School.

June 6, 1977, Tommy married the love of his life, almost 45 years, Robin.  By trade, Tommy worked in the automotive industry for 35 years.  He was one of the hardest working men you would have ever met.  All the way until he couldn’t anymore.  But, in the 45 years married, he raised 4 children that he loved more than anything.  He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family.  He loved to fish with the boys and to bowl with the family and friends, which he did for many years and was very good at.  He also loved the Dallas Cowboys.  That was his team.  You always saw Tommy with Dallas Cowboys attire on.

Tommy was a warrior until his last breathe.  Nothing got in his way.  From his first diagnosis with Cancer, he never let anything stop him or stand in his way.  Through all of his treatments, chemo and surgeries, he was always there.  For anything and anyone.  He was an amazing soul.  Cancer didn’t win. It never stopped him. Tommy fought so hard until the last moment surrounded by all of his loved ones.  Even though we lost a great love on Earth, we have all gained a Guardian Angel from Heaven.  Not a day will go by that his memory will be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Spruill.

He was survived by his loving and wonderful wife Robin of Amarillo, 2 sons, Jason and wife Gena Spruill of Amarillo , and Brandon and wife Tasha Spruill of Amarillo.  2 daughters, Mindy and husband Christopher Frausto of Amarillo, and Amy and husband Shawn Massey of Amarillo.  His children’s spouses were more than just that, they were his children as well.  He loved them with the same love. Along with his beloved 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way. His Father Billy Spruill, 2 brothers Danny Spruill , Billy Wayne and wife Delores Spruill. 2 sisters, Virginia and husband Ronnie Beard and Barbara and husband Larry Ferguson all of Amarillo. And numerous nieces and nephews of whom he loved dearly.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2022 at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.  Inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will be accepting family and friends at 6201 Oakcrest Lane, Amarillo, TX  79109.
