Timothy Dale Stevens 66, of Amarillo died November 30, 2021. A small memorial of friends and family took place on December 11, 2021. Tim has been cremated per his wishes.

Tim was born March 19, 1955 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Tim went to school in Memphis, Texas and later in Booker and Amarillo due to his father serving various communities in Texas as a preacher. Tim later went on to attend Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri. After a year there he went to work for Zales Jewelers and later worked for Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas for a while. He then decided to move to New York and worked there as a flight attendant for Braniff International Airways and also Global Air Charters. After spending 12 years in the airline industry Tim and a close friend of his opened a gift shop in New York called Recherche after a while he became the sole owner and the shop was named “Best of the Best in NYC” one year. After several years he developed health problems. Due to his unique health problems he was followed by the National Institutes of Health in Maryland for several years.  As his health was declining, the decision was made to close his store in New York and move back to Amarillo to be close to his parents. While back in Amarillo he worked at the Amarillo Country Club, Sitel and other various jobs. Tim loved to read and was an accomplished piano and organ player. He played the piano for a lot of school functions and events and blessed many people with his talent. He was a passionate democrat and loved to talk politics in person and on Facebook. He had a love for animals. His late lab “Fearless” and his current lab/mastiff mix “Soldier” and a cat named “Pearl” who were his comfort and loved him unconditionally. He was a very kind, loving, considerate person and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Tim is preceded in death by his older sister Judi Barclay, his younger brother Jim Stevens, his mother Astor Stevens and a nephew Jeff Barclay and his closest friend Ron Oorbeeck.

Survivors include his father and wife, Everett and Cindra Stevens of Amarillo, his brother-in-law Rick Barclay of Amarillo, a nephew Jon Barclay and niece Elizabeth Barclay both of Amarillo, Great Nieces Karon Barclay, Lilly-Grace Barclay, Zaidee Barclay, Xoi Barclay all of Amarillo and a three great nephews Cameron Barclay of Amarillo, Joseph and Bryndan Nivens of Borger.  Many close friends in Amarillo, New York, and all over the world that will greatly miss him.
