Thomas Vong Chanthapanya

Thomas Vong Chanthapanya, 75, of Amarillo died on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Prayer services will be at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel.
Thomas Chanthapanya was born on June 30, 1943 in Laos. He proudly served in the United States Army for 14 years. Thomas married Francy Kongdara in January of 1975. Thomas worked as a foreman at Tyson until retiring after thirty seven years. Thomas twice served as President of the Lao community, and he was a board member for the Buddhist Temple. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family and he will be greatly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Francy; two daughters, Christal Chanthapanya Miller and Mary Flores and husband Roger; a son, George Chanthapanya; a sister, Khammek Kongdara and husband Chithanong; six grandchildren, Matthew Dean Miller, Emma Garcia, Alyssa Flores, Caleb Flores, Cason Flores and Darren Chanthapanya; one great grandson, Jordan Silva; and many nieces and nephews.
