Mr. Thomas Case, 96, passed away on July 3, 2011. His funeral service is scheduled at 10:00AM on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel located at 8310 S. Coulter Road in Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery.
Thomas G. Case passed away at Ussary-Roan Texas State Veterans Home of Amarillo on July 3, 2011. He was born on Feb. 4, 1915, in Vera, Okla., to Robert McMinn Case and Nellie Francis Thomas Case.
He graduated from high school in 1932 and married Margaret Peters from Lawton, Okla., on Feb. 20, 1937. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept. 1, 1939, and received a honorary discharge on Jan. 14, 1946. After his military service, they moved to Phillips-Borger, where he had two children. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Amarillo, where he owned and operated Triangle Phillips 66 for a number of years. He then went to work for Transport Company of Texas, where he retired from on Feb. 1, 1980. He was a member of the Texas Masons for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Case; and a daughter, Marie Case Pederson.
Survivors include a son, Robert Case and wife Gayle of Blue Springs, Mo.; a grandson, Brandon Thomas Case and wife Susan of Grain Valley, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
