Thelma D. Sjolie, 85, of Amarillo died on Monday, October 3, 2016. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Jerry Davey officiating. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Thelma was born on September 1, 1931 in Peoria, Illinois to Chester and Sara Townsend. She married Melvin Sjolie in 1966 in Dallas, Texas. She worked as a nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital. Thelma enjoyed arts and crafts where she made Christmas pillows for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener where she loved her flowers. Thelma enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin Sjolie, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Crandell and husband Kenneth, James E. Boydstun and wife Kathy, Bonita A. Blakley and husband Dave and John W. Boydstun and wife Tracy; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
