Thava Jean Gibson was born on November 24, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to Earl Henry Woods and Willie Coleman Foster Woods. She married Charles Gibson on October 21, 1950 in Johnson City, TX. Mrs. Gibson was active in the Baptist community and taught a women’s bible class for twenty-plus years. She also loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Thava Hendrickson, Ginger and Mel Suttle and Denise McFather, all of Amarillo, TX.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack and Sunny Woods of San Angelo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; two brothers; and a grandson.
