Thang Dac Nguyen

Thang Dac Nguyen of Amarillo, Texas passed away Friday June 26, 2020. Thang was born in Hanoi, Vietnam on September 10, 1942. He graduated from the elite Vietnamese National Military Academy on November 20, 1965 and served in the Army of Republic of Vietnam as a Ranger in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War. In 1975 he came to America and settled in Amarillo where he worked for IBP/ Tyson for 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his father Toan Van Nguyen and his mother Dua Thi Nguyen. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Ut Snodgrass; Phuoc, Loc and Tho Nguyen; stepchildren Yen Guckeyson and Snodgrass; sisters Kim Ann Wallace and Hien Nguyen; grandchildren Keira, Kalli, Hanako, Nanako and James Keney; step grandchildren Nathaniel, Mai Linh and Evelyn.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Vietnam Church.
