Suzella Jane Parsons, age 83, of Amarillo passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Chapel.

Suzella was born on August 14, 1931 in Wichita Falls, Tx. to Tom and Autie Bursey. She grew up extremely close to her sister Nancy. She graduated from Amarillo High School and received her Master's Degree from West Texas State University. While in college she met Jack Parsons and they married on January 23, 1953. Suzella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She retired from Canyon ISD in May 1991 after teaching for 35 years. During her teaching career, she was voted Teacher of the Year in the State of Texas, named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers, and was a Help One Student to Succeed volunteer. Her favorite pastime was studying the Bible and helping others. She loved the Lord and spent her entire life serving God. She was a member of South Georgia Church of Christ. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister and a grandson, Taylor Bradley.

Survivors include a son, Andy and wife Sherri of Owasso, OK, a daughter, Jan Bradley and husband Chris of Amarillo, two grandsons, Nathan Bradley and wife Jessica, and Tyler Parsons, and one granddaughter, Kaylin Parsons.

Memorials should be made to the South Georgia Church of Christ or to your favorite charity.
