Stephen D. Gish, 62, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at ADVO Companies, 5241 S. Washington Street. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Warren Cemetery, Warren, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Street.
Stephen D. Gish was born on August 30, 1955 in Graham, Texas, to Emmett and Dorothy Gish. He was a resident with Advo Companies Inc. where he attended a day habilitation and work program and lived in a group home. Stephen was always full of life, he loved to dance the jitterbug with Maria, share his karate roundhouse kicks and going to camp. He enjoyed watching western movies on TV, especially John Wayne, Rifleman and Gunsmoke. Elvis was one of his favorites also. Stephen was an athlete and participated in Special Olympics bowling, basketball and track.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Emmett and Dorothy Gish.
Survivors include his two sisters, Beverly Anderson of Pampa, Texas and Debbie Gish of Houston, Texas and special friends Carla Hughes and his Advo family.
The family suggests memorials be to Advo Companies Inc., PO Box 51744, Amarillo, TX 79159.
