Silverio P. Segovia Jr.

Silverio P. Segovia, Jr., 72, of Amarillo passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm. Thursday, April 4, 2019 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor T. W. McClenton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Silverio was born on September 14, 1946 in Harlingen, Texas to Silverio S. and Maria (Perez) Segovia, where he grew up. He married Maria Gallegos on July 27, 1969 in Hereford, Texas. Together they raised their two daughters. He moved with his family to Amarillo in 1990. Silverio worked as a local truck driver for Republic Services for 24 years until his retirement. He served as an elder at River of Life Fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Joe Segovia.

Left to cherish his memory is wife of 49 years, Maria Segovia; two daughters, Maria D. Figueroa and Elizabeth Lopez and husband, Mark; four grandchildren, Matthew Segovia and wife, Carolyn, Anna Medina and husband, Ben, Joshua Figueroa and Aaron Figueroa; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Nikolas, Cruz and Cash Medina; seven siblings, Rosemary Salcedo, Celia Salas, Tony Segovia; Ramona Salas, Linda Segovia, Manuel Segovia and Maria Segovia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
