Shirley Gail Hunton, 65, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018. memorial services will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Country Church of Amarillo, Ave J & N.E. 11th with Pastor Ray Milhoan officiating.
Shirley was born on January 15, 1953 in Amherst, TX to William and Lilo Alger. Shirley graduated from Hereford High School and then married Leon Hunton on May 19, 1980 in Amarillo. She was a housewife for many years and then she worked at K-Mart. Shirley also ran in home day care for several years and was also a school crossing guard. She loved to work crossword puzzles, play cards and absolutely loved going to family cookouts and barbecues, but most of all, Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leon.
She is survived by her son, Sean and wife Meagan; a sister, Brenda Guinn and husband Butch; four grandchildren, Seth Hunton, Kinsley Hunton, Kaleigh Hunton and Zoey Hunton; numerous nieces and nephews and good friends, Jim Nussbaum, Dixie Dennis and Mollie Haskins.
