Shirley Mae Havlik, 85, of Amarillo passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 6, 2020. Private graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Memorial Park East Mausoleum. A Life Celebration will be held later in the summer.
Shirley was born in Perryton, TX on March 16, 1935 to Charley and Verlie Thompson. She graduated from Perryton High School in 1953. Shirley loved doing arts and crafts, was a collector of everything and loved to travel. On one of her trips, she went deep sea fishing. Shirley was also a scout leader, a band mom and a firehouse mom who loved to garden and can jalapenos, but most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Havlik, one brother, Ralph Thompson and one sister, Ruby Burger.
She is survived by her two daughters, Chriee Fortney and Cherell Fortney; two sons, Dana Havlik and wife Melody and Stephen Langley and wife Tonia; a step son, Jim Havlik and wife Nita; two sisters, Laura Urban and husband Henry and Margaret Mercer; two brothers, Charles Thompson and Glen Fredrickson and wife Esther; six grandchildren, Terry Lowrey, Joseph Havlik, Zachary Langley, Tambra Lynn Diehl, Calie Wyatt and Stevie Jo Langley; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
