Sandra Kay Colbert, 72, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Sandra Colbert was born on October 20, 1943 in Childress to Edgar and Juanita Wright. Sandra married Lonnie Colbert on April 27, 1973 in Clovis, NM. Sandra worked at the Amarillo State Center and then went to work for the ADVO companies until she retired in 2000. She liked to work in her yard and was always taking care of her family. Sandra loved getting her family together and was the person responsible for organizing the family reunion every year. Sandra was a fighter all of her life including her battle with cancer. She was a great cook and was a very independent lady who loved the Lord and her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Kevin Coble, one brother, Eddie Wright and two sisters, Sheila Starr and Joy Wright.
She is survived by her son, Mike Coble and wife Tonya of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Ashley Hartman and a grandson, Tyler Coble, both of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley Perry of Amarillo; a brother, Fred Wright and wife Donna Adams of Amarillo; a sister in law, Barbara Colbert of Bay Point, CA and many sweet nieces and nephews.
