Salvador C "Chava" Calamateo, 67, of Amarillo died on Thursday, January 19, 2017. The Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, January 23, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Salvador was born on November 9, 1949 in Hale Center, Texas to Delfino and Manuela Calamateo. He worked for Wilbert Vault Company and BSA Hospital. Salvador enjoyed playing pool at the casinos.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Antiono Calamateo and Paublo Calamateo.
He is survived his two daughters, Letisia Calamateo and Christina Cadena and husband, Michael; a son Rudy Lara; eight grandchildren and a special friend, Virginia Medez.
