Marie Eldridge Waltz, 85, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Street.
Marie was born on February 23, 1931 in Amarillo, Texas to Rowland and Katherine Eldridge. She grew up in Amarillo where she graduated from high School. She attended Amarillo College where she received an associates degree in business. She married Keith Waltz in Amarillo in June of 1963. She worked as a legal secretary for Atmos Energy until her retirement. She was a past president of the Oil and Gas Organization, Desk and Derrick. Marie was an accomplished musician, gifted writer and speaker. Marie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She adored all her nieces and nephews and she truly loved her Lord and savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Keith Waltz and two sisters, Pauline Hill and Lynn Grogan.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Allen; nieces, Sherilyn New, Julie Murphy and Dawn Pearson; nephews, Mike Hill, Daniel Hill and James Grogan; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
