Ruth Ann Thomas, 66, of Amarillo died on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Brother Barney Railsback officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ruth Ann Thomas was born on October 9, 1948 in Ipswich, MA. to Harold and Dorothy Hardin. She married Roy Don Thomas on October 13, 1965 in Childress. Ruth was a customer service manager for Wal-Mart and a cook for the doctors at BSA Hospital. She loved working fill-in word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was a great cook and loved to play her piano. Ruth never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She was a devoted Christian lady, wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Roy Don.
She is survived by two daughters; Michele Spann and husband Rodney of Haltom City and Roxane Day and husband Tony of Amarillo; three sons, Jim Thomas and wife Vikee of Little Elm, Ron Thomas of Amarillo and Rodney Thomas and wife Melissa of Odessa; two brothers, John Hardin and wife Linda of Torrance, CA. and Raymond Hardin and wife Marsha of Amarillo; twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 - 3:30 pm, Sunday, May 10, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral home, 8310 S. Coulter.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Harrington Cancer Center.
