Ruth Cash Moore, 94, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at Southwest Church of Christ with Mr. Brent Adams officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.
Mrs. Moore was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Knox County to James Monroe Cash and Minnie Black Cash. She grew up in Truscott and married Shirley Moore on Mar. 27, 1934. They were married 75 years and 10 months at the time of his passing in 2010.
Mrs. Moore was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook who had a servant’s heart, and she loved cooking and doing things for others.
She loved to read, and she and her late husband, Shirley, had been blessed to travel to all 50 of the United States. In fact, they shared their 60th wedding anniversary in Hawaii to complete their travels to all 50 states.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister and a grandson, James LeeAlan Moore.
Survivors include a daughter, Nola Havins and husband Derrell of Amarillo; two sons, Shirley Lee Moore and wife Shirley Dee and J.H. Moore and wife Warretta, all of Amarillo; a sister, Billie Marie Bradley and husband R.A. of Lubbock; two brothers, Weldon Cash and wife Ruby of Gainesville and Jim Cash and wife Edith of Crowell; seven grandchildren, Cheryl Hudson and husband Ronnie of Amarillo, Mark Havins of Lubbock, Monty Havins and wife Sheila of Indianapolis, Virginia Stubbs and husband Todd of Amarillo, Cody Moore and wife Glenda of Amarillo, David Moore of Fredericksburg, Va., and Christie Martin and husband Andy of Amarillo; and 16 great-grandchildren.
