Ruth Ann Drum, 93, of Valle de Oro passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Matador Church of Christ with burial to follow in Roaring Springs Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Dora, NM on July 28, 1924 to William and Carrie Brumfield. She attended school in Dora and continued her education at Abilene Christian University. She taught school throughout the war and married Lewis Duane Drum on August 15, 1947 when he returned from the service. Ruth was a faithful Christian and raised her children to love God and follow His word. She exemplified the life of the woman described in Proverbs 31. She was generous and kind, worked with her hands to provide for her family, and was a blessing to her husband and children. She loved God with all her heart and spent many hours in song and prayer. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and making quilts for her family. Ruth adored her children and was a loving and giving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis, three brothers, John Brumfield, Frank Brumfield, and Ray Brumfield and three sisters, Edith Parks, Mary Brown and Alice Light.
She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Mabery; seven sons, Danny Drum, Kenny Drum, Terry Drum, Billy Drum, Davy Drum, Mike Drum, and Lewis drum; two brothers, George Brumfield and Jim Brumfield; a sister, Addie Fulfer and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Children's Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Road, Lubbock, TX 79403.
