Russell was born on July 29, 1958 in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Billy Ray and Dorothy Minyard. He passed away on June 27, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas. Russell will be greatly missed by his many family and friends.
Russell enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and taking lots of pictures along the way. He always listened to a great variety of music, but especially enjoyed 1960’s to 80’s tunes from Neil Young, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Joe Satriani and many more. He loved riding his Honda Goldwing and V65 motorcycles, and also his car collection which included a Jeep Scrambler, a Jeep Gladiator, and a Challenger. Russell also loved contemplating the mysteries of life, such as outer space, UFOs, aliens, Bigfoot, the ancient pyramids, and the list goes on. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a unique sense of humor and kept us laughing with his antics. He had many pets over the years, his beautiful Macaw bird named General he had for over 40 years, and his most recent was his beloved Blue Lacy dog named Cody.
Russell worked at Chrome Machine and Casting (Cromac) in Amarillo, he was a hard worker and loved by all his co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Minyard; sister, Beverly Woodruff; and father, Billy Ray Minyard.
Survivors include two brothers, Steve Minyard and William Minyard and wife, Pam; his nephew, Mitchell Minyard; his niece, Mallory Walton and husband, Andrew Walton; and his niece Megan Woodruff and husband, Lee Agius and their children, Ruby and Jagger and many other family and friends.
