Russel Ralph Casteel, 77, of Amarillo died on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday 24, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Bob Miller, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter Street.
Russel was born on April 9, 1939 in Antlers, Oklahoma to E.E. and Willa Faye Casteel. He married Mary Trantham on August 27, 1960 in Amarillo. Russel owned and operated Casteel Granite and Tile from 1982 until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing, going to the casino, and he was an avid Nascar racing fan with #3 Dale Earnhart as his favorite driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Eric Keith Casteel, a daughter, Patricia Jane Puckett, two sisters, Betty Jane Smith and Billie Jo Vardy; two brothers, Alvin Edwin Casteel, and Dwayne Logan Casteel, and a grandson, Jordan Dale Casteel.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Casteel; a son, Russel Shawn Casteel and wife Donna; son in law, Chad Puckett; grandsons, Christopher Shawn Casteel, Brandon Scott Casteel and John Chase Puckett; granddaughters, Sarah Kathleen Puckett and Angel McKay Casteel; and four great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donors choice.
Viewing will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
