Roy Lee Morris, 77, passed away on December 31, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. He was born on May 25, 1947, to Warren G. and Opal Morris in Odessa, Texas. He attended high school in Grand Junction, Colorado, and college in Glendale, Arizona, before meeting and marrying Carolyn Morris on June 8, 1974, in Borger, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his daughter Cassandra Morris and her three children, Azhané, Alayah, and Ja’Rel Parker, daughter Monica Morris and her son Kobe Dickson, and daughter Chere (Tracy Lovett), and their two sons, Joshua and Gavin Lovett, and son in law Ricky Pruett and his three sons, Bradley (JoAnna), Brayden, and Zachary Pruett.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and a daughter Angela Pruett.

Roy served his nation from 1965 through 1968 by joining the Air Force. He was stationed in Germany and was a Staff Sergeant. Interestingly he guarded airplanes and gold reserves. He also won many awards as a sharpshooter while in the Air Force. He enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He loved to play chess and poker and as a young man, he loved singing and being involved in plays. He especially loved the Beatles and good old rock and roll. He was religious and spiritual and taught his children about God. “Rolly” loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He had a big heart and always saw the good in people and wanted all to be happy. He joked around a lot and loved to laugh and be happy. His grandchildren lovingly called him “Papa.” Roy was known for his sense of humor with his quirky sayings and always making those around him laugh and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
