Roy Lucero, 45 of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. Roy was born January 16, 1979 in Amarillo, Texas to Jose and Norma Lucero. He married the love of his life Theresa Lucero on April 26, 2003. He received his United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Journeyman’s certificate in 2006. Roy loved doing projects for the family. He found joy in cooking for his family and having big cookouts to bring the family together. He was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back to someone in need, and blessed are the ones who were fortunate enough to be loved by him. Roy was the kindest person who had a heart of gold and was everyone’s favorite. He was a jokester making everyone laugh all the time. He loved listening to music and watching sports. Roy was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. Win or lose they were always his teams.
He is preceded in death by his Father Jose Lucero; Brothers, Jeremy Lucero, Virgil Lucero, and Odie Garza; Nieces Savannah Zepeda and Marissa Garza; Father-in-law Jesse Zepeda.
He is survived by his mother Norma Lucero of Amarillo, Tx, wife Theresa Lucero of Amarillo, Tx, children Miranda Rodriguez and Husband Victor of Anna, Tx, Anthony Gavina and Wife Laura of Amarillo, Tx, Mark Gavina of Amarillo, Tx and his princess Megan Lucero of Amarillo, Tx. Grandchildren Rosalie Gavina, Zion Gavina, Noah Rodriguez. Sister Nelda Lucero of Amarillo, Tx, Brothers Freddy Garza and wife Laura of Hereford, Tx, Josh Lucero and wife Chasity of Albuquerque, NM. Many Nieces and Nephews, cousins, tios, tias and extended families.
