Rose Marie Jackson, 78, of Sherman died on Friday, February 5, 2016. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Chad Mantooth officiaiting. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens cemetery.
Rose was born on February 24, 1937 in Sturgis, South Dakota to Henry and Martha Mitchell. She was married to the love of her life, Larry Jackson for over forty years. Rose worked as a waitress for Denny's for many years and also worked for Maywood and Wal-Mart in the bakery department. She loved crocheting and made numerous blankets. Rose also loved to watch Flip This House on the television and every Saturday, she loved to go to the thrift store with her daughter Geneva, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; a son, Michael Meeks; a grandson, Matthew Mason and four sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Suzette Medrano and husband Mondo of Denison, Donna Fitzwater and husband Bill of Amarillo and Geneva Mason and husband Rick of Sherman; two sons, Pat Meeks and wife Lisa of Crowley and Ronnie Meeks of Amarillo; three brothers, John MItchell, Donnie Mitchell and Ed MItchell; nineteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
