Rosa Cates, 74, of Amarillo died on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Rosary will be said at 6:30 pm, Monday, December 22, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Laurence Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Rosa Cates was born on April 22, 1940 in Three Rivers, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Joe Rodriguez and Gavino Rodriguez Jr.; a daughter, Nora Rodriguez and a grandson, Jordan Davis.
She is survived by her husband, David Wayne Cates; three daughters. Virginia Levano of Tulsa, Dora Herrera and Linda Davis, both of Amarillo; two sons, Johnny Rodriguez and Larry Rodriguez, both of Amarillo; a sister, Margie Parrez of Lamesa; two brothers, Joe Gutierrez of Lafayette, LA and Louis Gutierrez of Three Rivers; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
