Roosevelt Adams Sr, 89, of Amarillo died on Friday, January 16, 2015. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Llano Cemetery with Pastor Bennie Anderson of Amarillo Baptist Fellowship officiating. Military Honors are by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
Roosevelt Adams was born on August 25, 1925 in Fannin County, Texas to H.D. and Francis Adams. Roosevelt proudly served his country in the Army during WWII and was a custodian for Wichita Falls Independent School District for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Essie and a son Frank.
He is survived by two sons, Roosevelt Adams Jr and fiancee, LaToya of Amarillo and Antwain Adams of Wichita Falls and a step daughter, LaVaun Green of Amarillo; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
