Ronnie Noles Norman, 68, of Amarillo died on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 11, 2016 at Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church, 3315 Hancock, with Randy Davis, pastor officiating. Family will be gathering before and after the service at 3801 Torre, Amarillo, Tx 79109. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home Martin Road.
Ronnie was born on August 16, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas to Noles and Cora Norman, He grew up in Amarillo where he attended school. He joined the United States Navy on August 9, 1964 where he was an Underwater Demo Team Diver. He served his country proudly and was honorably discharged on August 8, 1968. He married Glennda D. Jones on December 27, 1968 in Amarillo, Texas. Ronnie attended TSTI for two years studying mechanical technology. He worked for Bell Helicopter for 20 years and later for RRISD for 15 years before retiring. He enjoyed various activities including motorcycles, flying model planes, woodworking but most of all he loved anything around the water, boating, fishing, and swimming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glennda Norman; son, Todd W. Norman and his wife, Angel; daughter, Tammy Rice; five grandchildren, Todd Alexander, Mitchell Norman, Julie Norman, Ashley Norman, and Delaynah Rice, all of Amarillo.
Family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association Panhandle at 5410 Bell Street #411, Amarillo, TX 79101 or donor's charity of choice.
