Memorial service will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at  LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home Coulter Road Chapel.  Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel 8310 S. Coulter.

Ronald ‘’Ron’’ Earl Welling was born on November 17, 1951 in Matador to Freddie and Irene Welling. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and married Paula Pallmeyer September 8, 1979 in Las Vegas, NV. Ron was a traffic supervisor for Jack Cooper Transportation for 22 years and was a member of the VFW.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. Ron loved family vacations and get-togethers, laughter, woodworking and tinkering in the barn. He was the life of the party wherever the party was to be held. A legacy for all of us to remember; he shall be truly missed by all his family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley Welling.

Ron is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; a son, Scott Welling and wife Jamie of Amarillo; a step-daughter, Susan Mullin and spouse Lisa of Amarillo; a grandson, Cohen Welling of Amarillo; three brothers, Jim Welling of Midlothian, Frank Welling and wife Renee of Amarillo and  Gary Welling and spouse Tom Edmunds of Overland Park, KS and a sister, Peggy James and husband Wayne of Arlington.


In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to VFW Post 1475, or the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle.
