Ronald "Pete" Thompson, 70, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Shane Neese of Living Water Christian Fellowship officiating.

Pete was born on June 4, 1947 in Plainview to Roscoe and Lena Thompson. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1966. He married Vicki Gilson on November 6, 1987 in Amarillo. Pete was a salesman in the Real Estate, Food and Chemical industries. He also owned several rental properties that kept him busy. Pete loved politics and was always ready for a good discussion (sometimes just for the sake of discussion)! He loved watching Fox and listening to Rush Limbaugh at 11:00, but most of all, Pete loved spending time with his family and his dog Jag.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and lena Thompson.

Pete is survived by his wife, Vicki; a son, Paul Thompson and wife Lynetta; a daughter, Kristien Gillaspy and husband Mark; six grandchildren, Nancy Ockander and husband Chris, Tiffany Swofford and husband Bryce, Madelyn Murray and husband Christopher, Natalie Gillaspy, Victoria Riley and husband Justin and Harrison Gillapsy; two great grandchildren, Weston Swofford and Autumn Riley; a brother, Troy Thompson and wife Kelly and a sister, Dolores Graves.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to City Church or Camp Alphie.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
