Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Horn, 57, of Amarillo died on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 8, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter St., Amarillo, Texas.
Ronnie was born on June 20, 1959 in Canyon, Texas to Marlow and Murl Horn. He grew up in Hereford where he attended school. After school he lived in Duncan, Oklahoma before moving back to Amarillo. He worked as a plate fabricator. Ronnie married Diana Helfenbein on September 22, 1995 in Amarillo. They moved to Corpus Christi briefly before returning to Amarillo in 2008. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, sitting on the patio talking with his family and playing with his dogs. He was a family man where he loved every minute he spent with his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Horn; a daughter, Candace Hunt; a son, James Helfenbein; a brother, Donnie Horn; three sisters, Debbie Oliver and husband, Johnny, Sharon Secrist, and husband Ed, and Karen Moore; grandsons, Erik Helfenbein and Kolton Hunt; granddaughter, Darcelene Helfenbein and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the funeral home from 12:00 to 7:00 pm.
