Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at Polk Street United Methodist Church with Kevin Deckard, Charlie Keys and Ken Branum officiating

Ron was born April 26, 1955 in Amarillo to W.A. “Bill” and Helen Branum. He grew up in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School in 1974. He married Karen Anderson on Nov. 21, 2000 and always lovingly and respectfully referred to her as “his bride”. Ron was a devoted and loving Christian husband, father and grandfather who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and loved his family with all his heart. Ron was a HUGE Texas Longhorn fan and was very proud to be a Texan. He loved spending time outdoors, including working in the yard, cooking for his family and friends and enjoying fly-fishing at Lake City, Colorado. He worked his entire 35 year career with UPS and was honored with the Golden Circle award for safe driving. Ron was known for his kindness, his encouragement and his infectious positive attitude. He had a servant’s heart and even when he was very ill, he was still doing ministry work and serving others. He was very involved in The Golden Spread Emmaus Community serving as Director of The Chrysalis Program for youth. He was also involved in The Kairos Prison Ministry and The Clown Ministry. Ron was a fighter and encourager until the very end. He was excitedly awaiting the birth of his fourth grandchild Ava Suther at the time of his passing. Ron was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. “Bill” and Helen Branum.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; his four children, Whitney Branum and Evan Branum both of Austin, Kristine Keys and husband Charlie of Amarillo and Allison Anderson and husband Tyson Suther of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Jered Cagle, Logan Lavender and August Suther; two brothers, Kenneth Branum and wife Jody of Hereford and Michael Branum and wife Alma of Little Elm, TX.
