Rolo was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 3rd, 1995 to his parents, Irma and Rolando Martinez. He was a loving older brother to his siblings, Daniel Martinez, Andres Martinez, and Esmeralda Martinez.
Education was very important to Rolo. After graduating as a member of the Class of 2014 Caprock High School class, Rolo continued to further his education at both Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University. In 2017, he graduated with his Associates in Biology and then his Bachelor’s in Biology in 2019. During his journey throughout higher education, Rolo was able to grow exponentially and expand his horizons with every new experience. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Rolo was able to land a career as a Lab Technician at Lab Tech Services where he continued to further his knowledge as a young professional. As a first generation college student and the eldest brother, Rolo wanted to pave the way for his family by succeeding in higher education.
As a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, Rolo was a true believer in faith and attended mass every Sunday. During his free time, Rolo was an avid fan of video games and played the PS4 with his friends. He also loved raising and taking care of his dog and loyal companion, Brody. What Rolo valued the most was spending quality time with his parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, and his beloved girlfriend, Brenda Grenados. There will be many that will miss the conversations about anything and everything they had with Rolo.
Rolo was an optimist, and always saw the good in both life and people. He loved seeking out adventure, and loved participating in activities such as skiing, attending concerts, river rafting, lounging by the lake, solving escape rooms, trying out new kinds of food, and traveling to multiple cities with his girlfriend. Rolo is deeply loved and missed. His kind, gentle, and encouraging spirit will always be remembered.
