Roger Dale Allen, 66, of Amarillo died on Thursday, May 28, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Military Honors will be presented by Volleys for Veterans. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Roger was born on April 1, 1949 in Bowie to Burl and Helen Marie Allen. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. Roger was a truck driver for over 50 years where he worked for UPT Trucking and was also a owner/operator. He received his Grandmaster Truck Driving ring from UPT. He loved to play poker and some more poker and loved to talk. Roger loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Beverly of amarillo; two sons, Bobby Allen of Amarillo and Cliff Barcheers and wife Sharla of Lubbock; a daughter Misty Leamond of Amarillo; a brother, Ronny Ivey and wife Debbie of Amarillo; a sister, Terri Chumley of Lubbock and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 6-7pm, Monday, June 1, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
